Just reading the sample of this one on Amazon. It should come with a warning. The images of war the prose paints are so horrific that some readers will not be able to continue. The one long run on sentence form is very interesting. Don't think I can continue with this one, but I am sure it is a good story.
I recently read this book in early June after receiving a free print copy in a Goodreads win. I love what one reviewer wrote: a war book for people who don't like books about war:-) what an interesting read. Different than anything I've read before. Like one run on sentence, every paragraph begins with "and". It covers the horrors of WW1. Bleak and violent but still tinged with hope. Left me contemplating morality, good, and evil. 4.5 stars
