Describe your perfect summer day.

Annabel Monaghan: I wake up at five and it’s already getting light! I watch the sunrise with my dog and then write until my household gets noisy. I walk the dog; I walk myself. On this perfect day, my writing is going so well that I can’t wait to get back to it. What a day! By four, I’m ready to pack a picnic and meet my husband and kids for dinner at the beach (they’re adults, they can get there on their own, but they cannot provide food for some reason I don’t totally grasp). We play cards and drink very cold wine and there are no bugs.
